Esaote unveils panoply of imaging product lines
At last week’s RSNA conference in Chicago, Esaote showed its complete MyLab Ultrasound Product Line, with a focus on interventional radiology, breast care and mobile ultrasound services.
Its MyLab70XVG is able to run integrated virtual navigator technology, a modality introduced for the first time by Esaote, which provides real-time fusion of ultrasound and CT/MR imaging. For breast care, the company unveiled its 3D linear probe and ElaXto (to access the elasticity of tissues) are available on MyLab Gold platform. ElaXto is not available for sales in the U.S. market.
Esaote also showed radiofrequency (RF) QIMT feature, which is able to provide high resolution in the IMT measurement. Alessandro Gamannossi-, ultrasound strategic marketing manager for Esaote, told Health Imaging News that such accurate RF-based management allows physicians to make a evaluation of patients’ cardiovascular condition, for prevention, treatment and follow-up procedures.
In its MRI product portfolio, the company launched S-scan, a new musculoskeletal MRI system capable of scanning all joints, including the spine segments, such as L and C-spine. The G-scan was also presented, an MRI platform. The gantry of the system can be rotated to image patients both in the supine, as well as in a weight-bearing position. However, the G-scan is also not available for sale in the United States.
In the health IT field, EbitAet—the Esaote Business Unit for medical image and information management designed for radiology and interventional cardiology—presented its enterprise and multi-departmental integrated RIS/PACS solution, Risolution.
The enhancements include:

The enhancements include:
- The external-to-radiology data distribution;
- The quality assurance functionalities for the management of the anomaly conditions and the secure association between studies present in a PACS and procedures present in a RIS system;
- The consolidation of a scientific PACS for anonymized researches, studies and post processing medical activities fully compliant to privacy requirements;
- Modules for interdisciplinary modalities and clinical applications: quantitative vascular analysis for planning stent implants, starting from CT and NMR studies; multiphase cardiac CT studies by means of 2D, 3D and 4D viewing; virtual colonoscopy for viewing projections of colon CT scans, in both 2D and 3D; PET/CT fusion; planning and simulation of joint surgery.
