Abiomed to offer 2.4M shares of common stock

Abiomed, cardiac medical device maker, has announced the public offering of 2.4 million shares of its common stock. Morgan Stanley will be the sole underwriter for the offering.

The offering is being made pursuant to a shelf registration statement that became effective on Oct. 17, 2006.

As of Aug. 1, the company had roughly 33.7 million shares outstanding, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
