Dunlee releases new line of grids for imaging obese patients
Medical imaging components manufacturer Dunlee, a division of Philips Healthcare, announced a new line of Smit Röntgen grids designed to reduce dose and improve image quality at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30 through Dec. 4.
Hi-5 grids are fiber-interspaced instead of aluminum, which results in lowering the dose to average to obese patients during imaging, the company said. The Hi-5 grids utilize 5 mm high lead lamellae, compared to the normal 3 mm high conventional grids. The Smit Röntgen Hi-5 grids are for CR and DR imaging in normal as well as large patients.
