RaySearch Labs, TomoTherapy net FDA clearance

RaySearch Laboratories and TomoTherapy have reported that their new combined software solution, SharePlan, has received 510(k) clearance by the FDA, and will now commence a market launch.

SharePlan is a treatment planning solution that enables transfer of treatment plans between TomoTherapy Hi-Art systems and conventional linear accelerators. The product uses algorithms to automatically generate a selection of intensity-modulated radiation therapy plans based on an existing Hi-Art plan, according to the Stockholm, Sweden-based RaySearch and the Madison, Wis.-based TomoTherapy.
