Richard M. Levy, chairman and CEO of Varian Medical Systems Inc., has announced plans to retire in February. Timothy E. Guertin, current president and COO,  will be his successor. Guertin will retain the title of president, while Levy will continue serving as the chairman of the company's Board of Directors.


Misys Healthcare Systems has named Richard Atkin as president of the company's Healthcare Systems' Hospital Systems group.
