Ohio State selects McKesson revenue software
Ohio State University's (OSU) Pathology Services has chosen McKesson's Revenue Management Solutions (RMS) to tap into a previously dormant source of revenue.
The additional revenue will enable the pathology group, based in Columbus, Ohio, to fund the supervision of its laboratory and other critical projects. The pathology group will rely on McKesson RMS to manage medical billing and accounts receivable for its professional component of clinical pathology (PCCP) charges--those professional services that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and care of individual patients.
"We are simultaneously facing a higher demand for pathology services and declining Part A reimbursements," said Harry Pukay-Martin, general manager and chief financial officer at OSU Pathology Services. "PCCP billing will enable us to combat these market forces by funding our mission of providing the best possible clinical lab pathology services."
