Siemens, Steris hook up for hybrid surgical suites
Steris, a surgical support and integration technologies company, and Siemens Healthcare have agreed to collaborate in the offering of hybrid surgical suites for vascular, cardiovascular and neurosurgical applications.
The collaboration was announced June 11 at the 2009 Society of Vascular Surgeons meeting in Denver.
Through this collaboration, Siemens will provide information and interventional technologies, while the Mentor, Ohio-based Steris will supply HD 360 Suites, featuring LED surgical lighting and visualization systems, as well as OR integration and equipment management solutions. Steris will also provide room design and project management services using the company's 3D Room Builder software. The hybrid suites will allow surgical and diagnostic teams to carry out a range of image-guided cardiovascular, vascular and neurosurgical interventional procedures, as well as open surgeries.
