Siemens subsidiary opens N.C. SPECT radiopharmacy

PETNET Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions, has opened a new SPECT radiopharmacy in Raleigh, N.C.

Through an agreement with Covidien Medical Imaging, PETNET now offers a combined portfolio of high-energy and low-energy radioisotopes to the nuclear medicine community, expanding its PET and SPECT coverage.

The Knoxville, Tenn.-based company said the new site is located alongside its PET manufacturing and distribution center. The site is USP Chapter 797-compliant with a cyclotron and the capability to service both high and low-energy isotopes.

PETNET's radiopharmacy network has 50 radiopharmacies and distribution centers globally that produce and distribute PET radiopharmaceuticals to hospitals, clinics and research facilities for PET imaging.
