Siemens scores Soarian installs
UMass Memorial Health Care and Bethesda Healthcare System have signed multi-year contracts for Soarian, Siemens Healthcare's Web-based Healthcare Information System.
The new agreement between Siemens and the 1,111-bed UMass Memorial is a result of the Worcester, Ma.-based health system's desire to consolidate its revenue-cycle system, according to the company. The seven-year deal includes implementing Soarian Clinicals, featuring new Plan of Care functionality, Soarian Financials and Soarian Quality Measures. Siemens said its healthcare data-mining tool expedites the submission of quality measures through chart abstraction. Before inking the contract, UMass Memorial, which includes an academic medical center and four community hospitals, experienced Soarian's features firsthand through its member facility, HealthAlliance, which already utilizes Soarian and serves as a Soarian National Showcase Account, Siemens said.
South Florida's not-for-profit Bethesda Healthcare, offering inpatient and ambulatory services, has extended its 25-year deal with Siemens through a new contract that includes migration to Soarian Clinicals, Soarian Critical Care, Soarian Emergency Department, Patient Identification Check and Soarian Quality Measures. The nine-year partnership impacts some 550 Bethesda's physicians in more than 30 areas of specialty.
