California provider installs Toshiba CT system
Huntington Memorial Hospital of Pasadena, Calif., has acquired Toshiba America Medical Systems' Aquilion One volume CT system.
Huntington will use the 320-detector row CT system to support the new emergency department (ED), which is currently under expansion, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based company. The Aquilion One also will serve the hospital's radiology, cardiology, neurology and pediatric patients.
Designed to accommodate 30,000 patient visits per year, Huntington's ED sees more than 60,000 patients, including 17,000 children. To address this pressing need, Huntington is doubling the size of the ED in order to serve 80,000 to 90,000 patients per year.
