GE introduces service to monitor x-ray dose

GE Healthcare has introduced its Innova Dose Reports, a service for centers that operate its Innova interventional x-ray systems.

The Innova Dose Reports service harnesses the system's InSite broadband connection to GE to remotely collect information on procedure utilization, views, radiation dose usage per procedure and dose utilization trends during a given month.

As interventional procedures grow in complexity and length, the attention to dose has more urgent need. Information collected via InSite is subsequently combined in a report and delivered to the customer, according to GE. Innova Dose Reports also provide the customer with a notification when total dose exceeds their prescribed threshold to support post-procedure activities.
