Fisher takes helm at MITA
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association has named David Fisher to lead its Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA), an advocacy organization of medical imaging equipment manufacturers and product developers.
Currently the senior health policy advisor for the Senate Budget Committee, Fisher has held a number of senior level jobs in the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the executive branch during the last 12 years.
Most recently he served as the associate director of the Office of Management and Budget, where he oversaw the Departments of Health and Human Services, Education and Labor, the Social Security Administration, Railroad Retirement Board, and a number of programs administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Fisher also worked for two years at the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and four years at the Budget Committee in the Senate. He also served as government relations manager for Medtronic, where he advocated healthcare issues important to the medical device industry.
Fisher will replace Ilyse Schuman, who has joined the law firm of Littler Mendelson.
