Siemens adds U.K. ultrasound orders
The Royal Blackburn Hospital in Lancashire, England, has purchased three ulrasound systems from Siemens Healthcare.

Two Siemens Acuson S2000 ultrasound systems have been installed into the provider’s general ultrasound department for abdominal, musculoskeletal, vascular, thyroid, small parts and pediatric work. It also ordered a third S2000 to join an Acuson X300 in the antenatal department for obstetric and gynecological work. The third machine features a spatio-temporal imaging correlation (STIC) package for fetal heart imaging.

The systems include Siemens’ Clarify vascular enhancement technology, an algorithm that enhances vascular lumen definition, eliminates reverberation artifacts and reduces slice thickness partial volume effects to assist with obtaining clear vascular images, according to the company. The systems also have musculoskeletal transducers for obtaining images of soft tissue.
