Ascent gets FDA nod for 3D ultrasound catheter

Ascent Healthcare Solutions has received a 510(k) clearance from the FDA to reprocess Biosense Webster's SoundStar 3D diagnostic ultrasound catheter.

The SoundStar 3D ultrasound catheter is a 90-cm, 10F intracardiac echo catheter with an acoustic array. The catheter has a location sensor and an ultrasound transducer embedded in the tip, according the company.
