Harris acquires Patriot Tech

Communications and IT company Harris announced this week it has acquired health IT company Patriot Technologies for an undisclosed amount.  

Patriot, based in King of Prussia, Pa., provides health IT, imaging and enterprise software for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Harris provides communications and healthcare information systems integration, imaging and digital content management solutions supporting the Department of Defense and the Department of Health and Human Services Federal Health Architecture. The acquisition will enable Harris to provide interoperability solutions for the VA and Military Health System, according to officials of the Melbourne, Fla.-based company.

Patriot will become part of the Harris Healthcare Solutions business unit, led by Jim Traficant, vice president.
