Georgia medical center employs Eclipsys' PeakPractice

Athens Regional Medical Center, a 375-bed regional referral center located in Athens, Ga., has selected Eclipsys' PeakPractice EMR/practice management solution to link patient information with its network of physicians.

According to the Atlanta-based company, PeakPractice includes e-prescribing, patient portals, patient kiosk, supply chain management, image management, a Web portal for physicians and patients and can be delivered via a hosted service model or run on-site in the client’s own environment.

PeakPractice is a CCHIT Certified 2008 Ambulatory EHR product, and meets CCHIT’s EHR criteria for office-based use,  Eclipsys said.

In a later phase, Athens Regional will utilize PeakPractice to link care information with participating affiliated community physicians in Northeast Georgia. The community EMR program will utilize the Eclipsys HealthXchange, powered by health IT company Medicity to enable the exchange of information across a network of EMR systems.
