Michelson gains FDA nod for OCT scanner

The FDA has granted the Michelson Diagnostic VivoSight optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanning system 510(k) clearance for its distribution and use during imaging of the external tissue in patients.

The VivoSight, a multi-beam OCT, gathers sub-surface patient images at high resolutions (less than a 7.5 µm lateral resolution and 10 µm vertical resolutions) during 2D, cross-sectional imaging of the external tissue, Michelson reported.
