Ohio hospital taps McKesson EHR/practice management system

Akron General Health System in Akron, Ohio, has purchased Practice Partner EHR/practice management system from McKesson, offering it to its physician hospital organization and additional affiliated physicians.

Once installed, Practice Partner, paired with the RelayHealth connectivity platform, will allow physicians to electronically document patient care, submit prescriptions and receive laboratory results, according to McKesson.

The addition of Practice Partner expands on Akron General’s existing health IT systems because Akron General and physician practices will be able to electronically share clinical patient information, enhancing communication within the healthcare community, according to McKesson.
