FDA approves Bos Sci's iliac stent

The FDA has approved Boston Scientific's Express LD, a premounted, balloon-expandable stent specifically for use in iliac arteries. The company said it plans to launch the product immediately in the U.S.

Its balloon-expandable stent is designed on Tandem Architecture stent design, and can be used for atherosclerotic iliac lesions, according to the Natick, Mass.-based company.

The Express LD sent has already received CE Mark approval.

For endovascular disease, Boston Scientific also offers the Carotid Wallstent Endoprosthesis and the Express SD Stent for renal artery disease.
