Aloka updates ultrasound line

Ultrasound provider Aloka has updated its ProSound ultrasound systems line with the addition of an automated Nuchal Translucency (NT) thickness measurement and pre-calibrated settings.

The pre-calibration on the company’s Prosound systems can be used for many common examinations, and presets include patient age, weight and stage in pregnancy, in order to increase the accuracy of fetal testing, stated Tokyo-based Aloka.

While the company said that the NT algorithm is currently being tested and still must be peer-reviewed, the measurement system can potentially reinforce the accuracy of first trimester screening for chromosomal diseases.
