BridgeHead Software, Dell offer joint data management tool
BridgeHead Software and Dell have begun offering hospitals Medical Archive, a joint tool to store medical and administrative data in a centralized repository within an enterprise storage environment.
The underlying technology for the joint program consists of BH MediStore and BH OfficeStore from the Ashtead, U.K.-based BridgeHead and the DX6000 Object Storage Platform from the Woburn, Mass.-based Dell.
The joint tool seeks to address the challenge of the upsurge in healthcare data resulting primarily from the increasing volume of medical images as well as the adoption of the electronic patient record and the move to a paperless environment (including the retroactive scanning of historical patient information), according to the companies in a joint statement.
Medical Archive integrates the data from disparate clinical and administrative systems into a central repository for interoperability while providing protection and security of digital information, the companies added.
