TerraMedica wins HHS Medicare fraud assessment contract

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation has awarded healthcare technology firm TerraMedica a contract to conduct an assessment of fraud, waste and abuse in Medicare claims utilizing a pre-payment predictive scoring system.

This contract will enable HHS and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to assess the applicability of predictive modeling technology as a prevention and detection tool against fraud and abuse, the Minneapolis-based TerraMedica stated.
