MDS changes name to Nordion

MDS will be formally changing its name to Nordion, effective Nov. 1.

The Ottawa-based company's name change was approved by a shareholder vote on March 11, at the special annual shareholders meeting.
 
In line with the name change to Nordion, the corresponding ticker symbols under which the company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange and N.Y. Stock Exchange will be changing to NDN and NDZ, respectively, effective Nov. 1.
