Carestream introduces CR mammo display upgrade

Carestream Health has released an optional upgrade to its CR-based mammography systems, the SNP-M1 Screen.

When used with Carestream CR Mammography, the new screens offer structured needle phosphor technology, which enables improved visualization of micro-calcifications and higher detective quantum efficiency to increase sharpness and decrease noise for mammograms and general radiography exams, the Rochester, N.Y.-based company said.

The screens will be made available in both 18x24 cm and 24x30 cm sizes, and have not yet been approved for sale in the U.S., Carestream added.
