NJ rad provider manages practice with MedInformatix RIS

Radiology and teleradiology service provider University Radiology Group has implemented health IT company MedInformatix's Radiology Information System (RIS) for scheduling, patient exam tracking, billing and test results communication.

The single-platform MedInformatix RIS software controls the practice's patient scheduling, internal and third party billing, and EMR capturing, storage and communication, according to the University Radiology Group, based in East Brunswick, N.J.

MedInformatix RIS, working with a PACS, a digital dictation system and an interface engine, capture regionally distributed medical imaging data and aggregates all incoming data into a database.

MedInformatix RIS has allowed University Radiology to trim its full-time accounts receivable staff from five to three employees, the Los Angeles-based MedInformatix added.
