Fla. health system enlists Medicity for HIE

BayCare Health System, a 10-hospital health system in Tampa Bay, Fla., has selected Medicity’s HIE tools to assist in providing healthcare and enable a community-wide HIE.

The BayCare HIE will be comprised of affiliated and unaffiliated physicians, home care and other healthcare providers who will work together to assist the quality and cost-effectiveness of care, according to Medicity, of Salt Lake City.

Under the first phase of its project, BayCare will deploy Medicity's Novo Grid to support bi-directional exchange of clinical, financial and demographic data with physician offices, the company said.

In addition, the health system will install ProAccess Community to facilitate a single point of web-based access to a community health record and MediTrust Cloud Services to locate, match and aggregate records across the HIE.
