DOMA nabs 2 Army coding projects
The U.S. Army has awarded two task orders to DOMA Technologies to provide remote coding, feedback and reporting to Bassett Army Community Hospital, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and Weed Army Community Hospital, at Fort Irwin, Calif.
DOMA’s proprietary software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, iCodeRx, will enable certified coders to remotely code, abstract, analyze and assemble medical record data for the hospitals. The coders will work remotely to assign diagnoses and procedure codes for inpatient rounds, ambulatory procedure visits and outpatient clinical data and records, according to DOMA, a document management service provider based in Virginia Beach, Va.
With iCodeRx, medical charts are scanned, indexed and securely uploaded to DOMA’s servers and routed to a coder’s work queue for processing and submission to a dedicated hospital abstracting system, the company stated.
Coding managers and auditors can perform quality assurance and monitor production, while storing the coded charts for future retrieval by medical personnel online.
