New cardiac ablation catheter nets CE mark

Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics, a developer of temperature-sensing cardiac ablation systems, has received CE mark clearance for its Tempasure cardiac ablation catheter, which offers both saline irrigation and temperature-sensing technology.

The Tempasure system’s  passive sensing microwave radiometry technology allows the electrophysiologist to measure the temperature of cardiac tissue during the ablation procedure, according to the Laguna Beach, Calif.-based company. This technology is designed to allow radiofrequency power titration or “Temperature Mode” irrigated ablation.
