Endologix gets FDA nod for AAA system

The FDA has approved Endologix’s AFX endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) system, an endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm device indicated to treat AAA.

The company said that AFX system’s ergonomic dial mechanism will provide control during stent graft positioning and deployment. All AFX stent grafts, which measure 13 to 34 millimeters in diameter, are delivered through a hydrophilically-coated 17 Fr introducer sheath.

Lastly, the AFX system includes the Strata expanded polytetrafluoroethylene graft that is constructed using Strata graft material.

Irvine, Calif.-based Endologix highlighted the AFX system last week at the annual Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) meeting in Chicago June 16-18.
