This session will evaluate a change management case study that tackled the question: What happens when a practice undertakes standardization of physician dictation as a process improvement project?
The dictated radiology report represents the “product” of radiology and is essential as a communications document between physicians. It is also critical to the billing/collections effort and serves as the backbone for risk management in terms of medical liability. However, there is often wide variability in the quality of physician dictation and apparently little standardization among medical schools regarding radiology report elements.
