IU taps aycan for telestroke service

Indiana University (IU) Health’s stroke telemedicine service has selected aycan’s teleradiology system.

In an effort to expand statewide access to specialized stroke services and improve clinical outcomes for stroke patients, IU Health is teaming up with the Indiana Statewide Rural Health Network to launch a clinical service using telemedicine to support several hospitals throughout the state.

The organizations chose Silverhill Technologies, an aycan reseller, to integrate the system, which is comprised of aycan’s Store and Osirix PRO solutions. aycan will provide ongoing service and support.

Designed for IU Health, the integrated system provides a mobile technology platform that uses Apple MacBook Air laptops and iPhones to support neurologists in performing telemedicine consultations from remote locations.

aycan workstation OsiriX PRO is a 64-bit workstation for conventional, multi-slice and other image reading. aycan Store is a DICOM archiving and distribution system that can be accessed on site or off site through aycan’s data center.
