Agfa locks govt PACS contract
The U.S. government has granted Agfa Healthcare its Digital Imaging Network/PACS (DIN-PACS) III contract, extending its contract with the imaging IT company for a guaranteed two years at up to $60 million per year.
With federal contracts dating back to 1998, Agfa has secured an additional two-year deal, beginning March 8 of this year, to provide federal agencies with PACS, imaging repositories, CR/DR, speech recognition, integration services and support, the Mortsel, Belgium-based company said. The contract also includes three years of additional options, upping the contract’s total potential value over five years to $600 million.
Previously, Agfa said its contracts with the government have included projects with the Departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security and Justice.
