Alegent Health taps Carestream for enterprise DR project

Alegent Health has installed 14 Carestream DRX-1 systems and Carestream DRX-mobile retrofit kits as part of an enterprise-wide conversion from CR to DR systems.

Alegent placed wireless detectors in the ER, ICU and surgical suites. To ensure maximum utilization, DR detectors are shared among multiple systems at Omaha-based Alegent. Detectors used with portable imaging systems for evening or early morning rounds are then used with x-ray systems in the ER or general radiology rooms during the day.

The organization has reduced dose by more than 30 percent with the transition to DR, according to Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream.
