FDA approves Medicsight CAD for CTC

Medicsight has been granted FDA 510(k) clearance for its CT colonography (CTC) computer-aided detection (CAD) system.

Medicsight’s ColonCAD API program is designed to assist radiologists in the identification of polyps on CTC, the London developer of CAD software said. Medicsight indicated that the FDA decision followed a trial which demonstrated improved detection of polyps among 15 radiologist readers using the CTC CAD technology.
