Merge updates PACS with support for DICOM OPT

Merge Healthcare has released an update to Merge Eye Care PACS that includes support for the DICOM OPT (OCT) standard as well as support for video.

As a standalone application integrated with an EHR, Merge Eye Care PACS integrates diagnostic devices and clinical applications utilized in an ophthalmic practice, giving physicians the ability to review images and diagnostic reports side-by-side via a web browser or web-enabled device.

By supporting the OCT standard, Merge Eye Care PACS can be used as a viewer, delivering eye care modalities in a vendor-neutral viewing environment, the Chicago-based company said.
