RSNA R&E Foundation doles out $3.7M in 2014 grants
The Radiological Society of North American (RSNA) announced that its Research and Education (R&E) Foundation will fund 94 grants totaling $3.6 million in 2014, which is the largest amount ever awarded by the foundation in a single year.
Grant recipients include 44 different institutions across North America and two international recipients from the Netherlands and Sweden. Research projects supported by the grants feature the use of hyperpolarized Carbon-13 MRI to noninvasively monitor the liver and the use of 3D ultrasound to understand hip dysplasia in infants. Some grants also went to educational initiatives aimed at improving teaching and training skills.
“This funding would be impossible without the generous financial support received from countless individuals and our corporate and private practice partners and friends,” said James P. Borgstede, MD, R&E Foundation chair, in a press release.
