Radiologist compensation back on the rise
Radiologists are among the highest paid physicians, with compensation increasing for interventional and non-interventional radiologists over the last year, according to the annual Medical Group Compensation and Financial Survey from the American Medical Group Association.
Non-interventional radiologist median compensation was pegged at $476,013 in 2014, a 5 percent increase over $453,216 in 2013.
Median compensation for interventional radiologists was projected to be $518,164 in 2014, an increase of 2.7 percent over compensation of $504,772 in 2013.
The past year’s growth is a reversal in trends from the previous two years, according to the report. An overall 3.2 percent jump in compensation from 2011 to 2014 for non-interventional radiologists was observed despite decreases in compensation in both 2012 and 2013. Interventional radiology compensation grew 5.3 percent from 2011 to 2014, though it fell slightly from 2011-2012.
