Shimadzu Medical Systems USA and Konica Minolta Medical Imaging introduce MobileArt Evolution EFX AeroDR-i with 17” Touch Monitor to simplify operation

TORRANCE, CA – March 3, 2015 – Shimadzu Medical Systems USA announced today the new addition of the MobileArt Evolution EFX AeroDR to its family of wireless mobile digital radiography systems. This lightweight and cable free system has an integrated 17” touchscreen viewer to provide expanded viewing area of diagnostic images that are acquired and displayed. This also makes for easier control settings selection with its larger screen icons.

The system has a 14” x 17” Konica Minolta Aero DR flat panel detector, available in HQ and standard resolution sizes and their newest type, the XE for extreme environments, as well as a smaller 10” x 12” HQ FPD for pediatric NICU or dual FPD solutions. The EFX AeroDR-i is designed for easy patient and image detector positioning, while reducing patient discomfort and stress during portable procedures. The imaging console allows for the ability to control the digital and technical setting, and easily quality control the image from a single location to determine if a new exposure is needed. A built in roaming feature allows any of its Konica Minolta panels to be shared between portable use as well as use in any other general radiographic room equipped with a Konica Minolta CS-7 acquisition console. The integrated design of the MobileArt Evolution EFX AeroDR also makes the system ideal for use in surgery as well as operating room environments.

A clever feature designed into the console top allows any panel to be held securely while leaving the operator’s hands free to cover the FPD with a sterile bag, without worry of dropping the panel.

Space has been added to store sterile panel bags and disposable gloves on board the unit.

The mobile DR system is the most recent introduction of digital radiography systems that combines the user friendly Shimadzu MobileArt Evolution EFX portable X-ray and the reliable Konica Minolta Aero DR wireless flat panel detectors. Shimadzu Medical Systems USA and

Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced their alliance to create these systems in April 2014.
