Enterprise innovations at SIIM 2016

Change is in the air, can you feel it?

Of course you can! You work in healthcare, change is what you do. Fortunately, the SIIM 2016 Annual Meeting is almost upon us, and academic thought leaders will join industry experts to share the latest strategies and advances in imaging informatics. This year’s conference—with the theme of “Leading Change”—will take place June 28 – July 1 in Portland, Oregon.

The program features a number of sessions dedicated to enterprise imaging, analytics and workflow. Here’s just a few of the sessions that caught our eye:

The Reading Room: Workflow and Efficiency

Doing more with less, that’s the mantra of healthcare today. Fortunately, several innovative sites are sharing their strategies to streamline workflows. In this session, you’ll be able to hear about Geisinger Radiology’s order management workflow as well as Columbus Radiology’s workload balancing algorithm. Speakers will also touch on the use of structured reporting to improve ICD-10 compliance.

CMS has more than doubled the CCTA payment rate from $175 to $357.13. The move, expected to have a significant impact on the utilization of cardiac CT, received immediate praise from imaging specialists.

The newly cleared offering, AutoChamber, was designed with opportunistic screening in mind. It can evaluate many different kinds of CT images, including those originally gathered to screen patients for lung cancer.
