Seno Medical names new CFO, plans to go global
San Antonio-based Seno Medical Instruments, has appointed veteran healthcare businessman Eric Davis as chief financial officer, a move that the company hopes will help expand its global presence.
Davis was previously the CFO and corporate treasurer at CeloNova BioSciences, a medical device manufacturer, also in San Antonio. Seno develops opto-acoustic imaging devices designed to diagnose breast cancer.
"Eric is an accomplished financial executive with significant accounting and operational proficiencies, and will be an exceptional addition to our team," said Tom Umbel, CEO at Seno Medical. "Eric brings global business and healthcare finance and accounting experience, which is invaluable in our preparation to launch our products and services in Europe next year."
Seno’s device, branded the Imagio OA, is a breast imaging system that can identify two functional hallmarks of cancer, the presence of abnormal blood vessels and a reduction of oxygen in blood. The technology is non-invasive and doesn’t include exposing patients to any type of radiation.
Prior to working at CeloNova, Davis was CFO and operating officer at Genesis Networks Enterprises. He has a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Tulsa and a master’s in finance from Madison University.
"It's truly an exciting opportunity to join an innovative company like Seno Medical, especially at this juncture in their product life cycle," Davis said. "The commitment by this passionate team and the company's novel technology to improve cancer diagnosis non-invasively and without additional ionizing radiation, make it an exciting time to join such a dynamic organization."
