Could an app help patients gauge radiation exposure?

A new article by Dataconomy, a data technology news site, discusses how an app could help people avoid the health risks associated with radiation exposure when undergoing imaging tests.

Some possible options are storing imaging test and radiation information in medical data management systems, healthcare content management systems and CRM systems. But a problem arises with these methods: Only physicians can access the information.

An option that would allow patients to gauge how much they are exposed to radiation would be an app that lets them document the imaging tests they undergo. They could log the type of imaging, visit date and the amount of radiation absorbed during each visit.
