Breast imaging operations suspended after posing 'serious risk to human health'
Belleville Imaging, a radiology center, has had its breast-imaging operations suspended by Illinois regulators after an accrediting agency found that some of its examinations were not up to par with clinical standards.
More than 2,000 patients received letters from St Louis-area imaging center that stated they need to have mammograms reviewed and some may require repeat mammography.
The Belleville-News Democrat reported, "The American College of Radiology, which reviewed 30 examinations between May 13, 2014, and Aug. 31 of this year, found problems with both how the images were taken and how they were read."
