Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Installs First Toshiba Medical Vantage Galan 3T

TUSTIN, Calif., May 15, 2017  Patients in Las Vegas, Nev., now have access to cutting-edge 3T MR exams at Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging (SDMI) with the installation of the Vantage GalanTM 3T from Toshiba Medical, a Canon Group company. SDMI, one of the largest outpatient imaging centers in the United States and a 29-year research partner with Toshiba Medical, is the first healthcare provider in the country to install the Vantage Galan 3T. SDMI is leveraging the system’s patient-friendly features and streamlined operability to bring the most advanced MR technology to physicians for the betterment of their patients. “We want to be the most cutting-edge outpatient radiology practice in the United States, and as the first facility to install Toshiba Medical’s Vantage Galan 3T, we are confident in our ability to quickly provide more comfortable, fast and accurate exams,” said Dr. Mark Winkler, professor of health sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and founding partner of SDMI. “SDMI strives to be the best in research and patient care, and the Vantage Galan 3T helps us meet both needs.” SDMI is using the Vantage Galan 3T for a variety of imaging procedures, including advanced brain imaging, dementia, spine and joint diagnostics, as well as staging for transplantation patients. This premium MR solution offers a comprehensive range of clinical applications including neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal, cardiovascular, breast and prostate. The Vantage Galan 3T is designed to increase signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by up to 20 percent, allowing for faster sampling and higher resolution images thanks to PURERF and Saturn technologies.  SDMI will benefit from Toshiba Medical’s four generations of unique, non-contrast MRA sequences that minimize risk to patients while producing exceptional images. The Vantage Galan 3T also makes scanning even more quiet with Pianissimo™ Zen technology that reduces sound during acquisition by 99 percent.*  “We are committed to providing our customers with the very best tools in diagnostic imaging so they can put their patients at ease,” said Dominic Smith, senior director, CT, PET/CT, and MR Business Units, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. “While 3T has often been limited to research settings, the Vantage Galan 3T allows healthcare providers to offer routine, high-quality MR imaging to their patients. With our new Vantage Galan 3T, clinicians at SDMI can simplify complex MR exams and offer patients a quiet and more comfortable experience.”
