Cheryl Kreider Carey named new executive director of SIIM

Leesburg, VA - November 8, 2017 - The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) has announced the selection of Cheryl Kreider Carey, MBA, CAE as its new executive director. She will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Anna Marie Mason, MS. Conducted by Vetted Solutions, the selection was made after a national search and selection process and will assume this role on December 4, 2017.

"We are very excited to announce this appointment," reported SIIM Board Chair Paul Nagy, PhD, FSIIM. "Cheryl will bring leadership and creativity to SIIM with a deep sense of commitment to our mission. She has a breadth of perspective in healthcare and direct experience in imaging information technology."

Carey currently serves as the General Secretary for the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard at the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA). DICOM is the principal standard used in the medical imaging industry for archiving and interoperability.

"I'm excited and honored to work alongside these forward-facing professionals, the strategic-thinking Board, and competent staff," Cheryl said. Her resume includes serving as the Executive Director for the American Academy of Audiology.
