"Enterprise imaging is the first step towards a learning health system, the movement towards real-time healthcare. If you break apart the ‘ologies’ and the different service lines, they all need an archival component, they all need a routing, and mapping, and morphing component. They all need a viewing component. They all need a work list type environment. If you take all those different modular pieces and go across service lines, that is enterprise imaging, being able to break it all apart. The priorities are wrapping clinical, operational and financial to the enterprise."
