XIRIS is a web-based RIS that can scale to meet the needs of community hospitals as well as large, multiple-facility hospitals. XIRIS also provides an international and multilingual solution. XIRIS is designed to manage patient registration, scheduling, exam tracking, staff and resource management, eligibility and verification, medical necessity and the generation of reports and statistical information, the company said.
Philips Healthcare displayed its comprehensive cardiovascular IT solutions that support enterprise connectivity, multimodality image management, advanced clinical applications, clinical reporting, outcomes-based analysis reporting, cath lab management and cardiovascular ultrasound reporting, multimodality scheduling, inventory and extensive data management. Furthermore, Philips offers an array of services to help healthcare providers monitor patients’ post-discharge from their home environments.
Philips’ newly enhanced Xcelera Cardiology Information Solution organizes and provides access to images and data from key cardiology subspecialties. The system presents one access point to multimodality information, such as cardiovascular ultrasound, CT, MR, nuclear medicine, ECG and electrophysiology recording signals, as well as provides long-term storage and enterprise distribution of multimedia studies.
In the cardiac cath lab, the Philips portfolio includes the new Xper Information Management cardiovascular solution. This product delivers the physiological monitoring, reporting, scheduling, inventory management and data mining cath lab that clinicians and physicians requested.
In addition, Philips provides extensive interface capabilities to ensure integration with EHR, hospital information systems (HIS), and other vendors’ systems.
Philips extends the support of the cardiac care continuum into the home with remote patient monitoring solutions. Philips Home Healthcare Solutions include a comprehensive offering of Telehealth products and services for post-hospital discharge monitoring of patients with congestive heart failure and other chronic diseases. Together with Philips Lifeline, and the recently acquired Raytel Cardiac Services’ diagnostic arrhythmia and implanted device follow up services, these solutions aim to improve the quality of life for at-risk seniors, the chronically ill, and their caregivers by enabling independent living at home.
The company highlighted its recent acquisitions, Emergin and Visicu.
Emergin’s alarm management and event notification software helps ensure that critical information is sent to the right caregiver, at the right time, on the personal communication device of their choice –an alpha pager, wireless telephone, PDA or LED sign, the company said.
The IntelliVue Clinical Information Portfolio (ICIP) for critical care environments provides multi-disciplinary clinical decision support and documentation for the initial point of care.
Designed for use in the adult, pediatric and neonatal ICU environment, ICIP Critical Care drives real-time clinical decision support with multi-parameter clinical advisories.
Clinical advisories point out potential problems early—before they have a chance to develop. Signs of sepsis, for example, trigger an advisory that also references the bundle of interventions recommended by the international Surviving Sepsis campaign.
A drag-and-drop interface allows users to build tables and charts without extensive training. Additionally, automated reports help meet regulatory mandates.
The CompuRecord Anesthesia Information System enhances pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative anesthesia care. The pre-operative assessment automatically incorporates clinical data from current and prior visits, and makes patient information easily available to others on the care team.
An automated intra-operative anesthesia record helps free clinician time to focus on the patient while automatically capturing quality assurance measures, supplies usage, and billing data. A patient tracking module ensures timely information on patient status and location is available to clinicians and family members.
The firm spotlighted OB TraceVue, a patient-focused obstetrical information system that provides a comprehensive clinical record of care for the mother and newborn. Surveillance functions present information that is transmitted from fetal and fetal/ maternal monitors and generate alerts for critical events.
OB TraceVue can be accessed from the patient bedside and delivery room, central station, nurse’s lounge, and physician’s home or office. The system can also help caregivers manage legal liability issues by storing comprehensive patient information, including traces, on long-lasting magneto-optical media. Optical storage media can store data for up to 30 years according to the accelerated lifetime tests of the media manufacturer.
