Chaplin to lead Wi-Fi Alliance
Clint Chaplin has recently been elected chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance based in Austin, Texas, which is an organization devoted to promoting the use of Wi-Fi technologies. Chaplin is replacing Bill Carney, who had been chairman since June 2004.
Chaplin's previous experience includes serving as the organization's technical chair. He has also been a board member for over two years. Additionally, Chaplin currently also serves as a wireless security advisor at Symbol Technologies Inc., Holtsville, based in New York. He is also involved with the IEEE 802.11r task group for which he serves as chair.
Any company that supports the use of Wi-Fi technology may become a member. The organization currently includes over 200 members from an assortment of vendors
