Eclipsys names Pead as CEO

Eclipsys has named Philip M. Pead as president and CEO, succeeding R. Andrew Eckert, who will be leaving the company following a transitional period during which time he will work closely with Pead.

Pead, an Eclipsys director, was chairman, president and CEO of Per-Se Technologies, a provider of acute-care solutions, physician outsourcing services and practice management and claims processing services, until McKesson aqcuired the company in 2007.

Prior to joining Per-Se in 1997, Pead served as the senior vice president (VP) with responsibility for international operations of Dun & Bradstreet Software Services, a software developer; and as VP with responsibility for overseeing the Asian and Latin American operations of Attachmate, a host connectivity solutions provider.

Eclipsys said that Pead will continue as a director.
