Federation of State Medical Boards names Dugan as CIO

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) has announced that Michael P. Dugan, an IT expert with systems development and data management experience, will join the board’s executive leadership team as CIO next month.

Dugan will be responsible for FSMB’s data and records management infrastructure and its online enterprise, and will assist FSMB CEO Humayun Chaudhry, DO, and his senior management team with strategic planning decisions, including developing FSMB’s long-term position in the health IT arena, according to the FSMB.

For the past four years, Dugan has served as director of IT planning at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas. He led Parkland’s implementation of a new EMR system and other IT initiatives. During his time at Parkland, he also served as interim chief technology officer, and previously was the system’s director of applications, the federation said.
