iCAD releases virtual colonoscopy + CAD software upgrade

iCAD has launched an updated version of its computer-aided detection (CAD) technology for CT colonography, VeraLook.

The Nashua, N.H.-based company said that the upgraded software will offer a 5 percent increase in the sensitivity of potential polyp detection and a 20 percent reduction in false positives for polyp detection. The product has received CE Mark approval and is currently available in Europe. FDA clearance is pending in the U.S.
